Cookie Policy

Last updated September 23, 2026

Which cookies this site sets, what each one is for, and how to refuse the optional one. It is a short list, because there is not much on it.

The short version

One cookie keeps you signed in. It has to exist or the login cannot work, so there is no way to turn it off and still have an account.

Google Analytics is the only optional thing, and you can switch it off here, on this page, at any time. Switch it off and no analytics script is fetched, no analytics cookie is set, and no request goes to Google.

In the United States it is on unless you turn it off. In the UK, the EU and Switzerland it is the other way around: nothing loads until you accept it in the banner. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as off, everywhere, and you do not have to tell us twice.

There is nothing else. No advertising pixels, no trackers.

What we actually set

Session cookie (essential). Set by NextAuth when you sign in. It tells the server which account a request belongs to. Without it every page would ask you to log in again. It clears when you log out.

Your cookie choice (essential). Stored in your browser's local storage, not a cookie as such. It records whether you accepted, declined or switched measurement off, so we do not ask again on every visit. Alongside it, one small cookie records only which of the two rules above applies where you are, so the page knows whether to ask or to tell you.

Google Analytics (optional). Measures page views and rough traffic patterns so we can tell which pages are worth improving. It does not receive your resume, your name or your email. Switch it off above and it stops.

Stripe (only at checkout). If you start a payment, Stripe's hosted checkout sets its own cookies for fraud prevention. That happens on Stripe's page, under Stripe's policy, and only if you go there.

Changing your mind

The control at the top of this page is the direct way, and it takes effect immediately. Clearing this site's data in your browser also removes the stored choice.

Every browser also lets you block or delete cookies from its settings. Blocking the essential one will stop you being able to stay signed in. That is the only thing that breaks.

If you would rather we deleted everything we hold about you, that is on the privacy policy, and one email does it.

Changes to this page

If we ever add something that sets a cookie, it will be listed here before it ships, and anything non-essential will be behind the same banner. We will not add an advertising pixel and describe it as “functional”.
