Simplify Review
An honest look at Simplify's pricing, autofill and free resume builder, and what ResumeFox does differently.
What each one actually costs over twelve months
Simplify's core tools, autofill, tracking, job matching, AI mock interviews and a basic resume builder, are free forever by its own account, so the honest comparison starts there. Simplify+ then runs its own shape: no public pricing page (simplify.jobs/pricing returns a 404), three short recurring terms (weekly, monthly, every 90 days), and no confirmed annual option. ResumeFox is one plan: 7 days free, then $79 a month, and that price buys the same resume work plus a career professional you can write to.
- Autofill, job tracker, job matching and the resume builder are free forever, per Simplify's own FAQ
- Non-refundable once activated; only a 24-hour window covers an accidental renewal charge
- A career coach of your own, a career professional in the US from TopStack.com
- Standards from 80,000+ resumes written by real US career writers, plus a 6 month job offer guarantee
Simplify's prices are read from its own help center; simplify.jobs/pricing itself returns a 404 and prices otherwise only appear inside the app. There is no confirmed annual plan. ResumeFox charges nothing during its 7 free days. Confirm the exact price and terms on the checkout screen before entering a card.
The full side-by-side comparison
Grouped by what actually matters: where the writing comes from, whether the file survives the software, whether the resume gets aimed at the job you want, and what it costs to keep using.
A half-filled circle means the feature exists but with a real limitation, described in the cell.
More templates is not the same as more good templates
A large share of the designs these builders promote use two columns, a headshot slot, or skills drawn as dots and bars. Those choices are the reason a resume arrives shredded: the sidebar gets read straight across into the middle of your job history, and a skills graphic says nothing once the picture is gone.
ResumeFox ships 10 templates plus a US federal layout. Not one has a sidebar, a photo or a chart. They differ in typography and emphasis, never in whether they parse.
- Whether a parser reads your name, email, phone and dates
- Whether anything is trapped in a table, column or image
- Named problems, not a grade out of 100
What each one is genuinely good and bad at
The most feature-complete free tier of any job-tracker-first product on this site: free autofill with no application cap, free continuous job matching, a free 4-template resume builder, and even a free, unlimited AI mock interview. Its independent Trustpilot rating (3.2★/18) sits well below the 4.9★ it states on its own homepage, and several reviews describe the same non-refundable policy published on its own site.
- Free forever, by its own account: autofill (no application limit), job tracker, AI job matching, and a 4-template resume builder with a free ATS score
- Free, unlimited AI mock interviews tailored to a target company and role
- A genuine networking tool that maps contacts and drafts outreach at target companies
- Autofill covers 100+ ATS platforms and job boards, described on its own site as reaching 100,000+ company career sites
- Non-refundable once a subscription is activated, with only a 24-hour window for an accidental renewal charge
- 3.2★ on Trustpilot from 18 reviews, well below the 4.9★ Simplify states on its own homepage
- Resume score is a number (85, 95 and similar), not a named list of fixes, though its own FAQ does disclaim what the score is not
- No public pricing page; prices only show up inside the app or its help center
Built by a resume-writing firm rather than a tracking-and-autofill agent, and sold as one plan with a career coach included. The standards come from real work, not an algorithm, and every finding is a named problem or a band, never a score to chase.
- A career coach of your own, a career professional in the US from TopStack.com, with unlimited written messages and a $20 30-minute call whenever you want one
- Standards drawn from 80,000+ hand-written resumes by 100+ CPRW-certified US writers and recruiters
- 6 month job offer guarantee: If you have paid for our service for 6 consecutive months, and you have not received a job offer, we'll continue to work with you for 6 additional months at no cost.
- Interview prep is built from live research on the specific company
- $79 a month, several times what a builder subscription costs, and Simplify's core tools are free
- No application autofill; Simplify's free Copilot fills forms across 100+ ATS platforms
- No networking or referral-finding tool
- Coaching is written messages; a phone call is a $20 add-on rather than part of the price

Is Simplify legit?
Yes, it's operated by Simplify Jobs, Inc., co-founded by Michael Yan (CEO) and backed by Y Combinator and Craft Ventures. Its own homepage states a 4.9★ rating; independently, Trustpilot shows 3.2★ from 18 reviews on an unclaimed profile, and several reviews describe the same non-refundable policy Simplify publishes on its own site.
How much does Simplify cost?
Simplify's autofill, job tracker, job matching, AI mock interviews and 4-template resume builder are free forever, per its own FAQ. Simplify+ adds AI-written tailoring, cover letters, application-question answers and networking outreach for $19.99/week, $39.99/month, or $89.99 every 90 days; there is no public pricing page and no confirmed annual plan.
Is ResumeFox cheaper than Simplify?
No. Simplify's core tools are free forever by its own account, and Simplify+'s cheapest confirmed option is about $360 a year (every 90 days at $89.99). A year of ResumeFox is $948, twelve charges of $79 after the 7 free days. What that buys is the same resume work plus a career coach in the US you can write to as often as you like, a targeted resume and cover letter for each job, job sourcing, the tracker and the 6 month job offer guarantee.
Does Simplify really autofill 100,000+ job sites for free?
Its homepage says so; its own FAQ is more specific — the Copilot extension autofills on over 100 ATS platforms and job boards (Workday, Greenhouse, iCIMS, Taleo, Avature, Lever, SmartRecruiters, LinkedIn, Indeed and more), which collectively cover many individual employer career pages. It's free either way, with no cap on the number of applications.
Does Simplify give a resume score?
Yes: a free ATS Readiness Score, shown as a number in its own product demo (85, 95 and similar). To its credit, Simplify's own FAQ states the score is "not an employer's ATS score, a guarantee... or a prediction." ResumeFox never scores either half: named problems on readability, bands only on fit to a posting.
Does Simplify record my mock interviews?
Simplify doesn't say. Its AI Interviewer page describes free, unlimited practice tailored to a company and role, but doesn't state whether sessions use video or audio, or what happens to any recording. ResumeFox's mock interview only ever sends the transcript to its AI; the video itself never leaves your browser and is not stored.
What happens if I don't like it?
Simplify's Refund Policy (effective August 2026) states that once a subscription is activated, all payments are non-refundable, with narrow exceptions for an accidental renewal charge (24 hours) or a verified extended outage. Multiple Trustpilot reviews describe refund requests being refused under this policy. ResumeFox charges nothing during its 7 free days, so cancelling inside them costs you nothing, and it carries a 6 month job offer guarantee: If you have paid for our service for 6 consecutive months, and you have not received a job offer, we'll continue to work with you for 6 additional months at no cost.
How we compared these
Pricing is read from each provider's own checkout or pricing page. Feature claims are checked against each product's live interface. Where we could not confirm something ourselves, it is not on this page.
Where numbers disagree
Entry prices in this category differ across landing pages and promotions. Where that happens we give the observed range rather than one figure, and say so.
Our disclosure
This page is published by ResumeFox, one of the products compared. We have an obvious interest in your choosing it. That is why every claim about a competitor is one you can check on their own site, and why we name the rows they win.
