Novorésumé Review
An honest look at Novorésumé's pay-once pricing, ATS score and templates, and what ResumeFox does differently.
What each one actually costs over twelve months
Novorésumé's free Basic tier needs no card, and its paid tier is a one-time purchase for a fixed period rather than a subscription: $199.99 buys a year of Premium outright. ResumeFox is one plan, 7 days free then $79 a month, and that price buys the same resume work plus a career professional you can write to. Read the two cards as what they are, software bought once and tools with a person included.
- No subscription: pay once for a period of Premium access, nothing auto-renews or auto-charges
- Free Basic plan is capped at one 1-page resume with no cover letter; a recent user review describes being asked to pay before downloading even that page, which the site's own FAQ does not fully explain
- A career coach of your own, a career professional in the US from TopStack.com, plus a 6 month job offer guarantee
- A recurring plan: it charges every month unless you cancel, which you can do anytime from your account. Nothing is charged during the 7 free days
Novorésumé's prices are read directly from its own pricing page and are one-time charges, not recurring subscriptions; the Year figure above is the cost of buying that option once, the cheapest way to get 12 months of Premium. ResumeFox is charged monthly and keeps charging until you cancel, which you can do anytime from your account. Confirm the exact price and terms on the checkout screen before entering a card.
The full side-by-side comparison
Grouped by what actually matters: where the writing comes from, whether the file survives the software, whether the resume gets aimed at the job you want, and what it costs to keep using.
A half-filled circle means the feature exists but with a real limitation, described in the cell.
More templates is not the same as more good templates
A large share of the designs these builders promote use two columns, a headshot slot, or skills drawn as dots and bars. Those choices are the reason a resume arrives shredded: the sidebar gets read straight across into the middle of your job history, and a skills graphic says nothing once the picture is gone.
ResumeFox ships 10 templates plus a US federal layout. Not one has a sidebar, a photo or a chart. They differ in typography and emphasis, never in whether they parse.
- Whether a parser reads your name, email, phone and dates
- Whether anything is trapped in a table, column or image
- Named problems, not a grade out of 100
What each one is genuinely good and bad at
A pay-once resume builder rather than a subscription: Premium is bought for a fixed period with no auto-renewal. Its ATS Resume Checker and AI Resume Job Matcher both score fit to a posting numerically and state outright which qualifications you're missing.
- No subscription: pay once for a period of Premium access, nothing auto-renews
- Free Basic plan needs no card and includes a real 1-page resume
- 14-day right to cancel and refund on a Premium purchase, per its Terms of Use
- A broader spread of free AI writing generators (objective, bullet, summary, rewriter) than ResumeFox offers as separate tools
- ATS Resume Checker and its Job Matcher both score fit 0-100 and state outright which qualifications you're "missing"
- Premium specifically sells photo styles and graphic "creative rating styles" for skills; some templates use a colored sidebar
- No job search, application tracker, interview prep, or LinkedIn tool
- A one-time Year purchase costs $199.99, and covering a year by the quarter instead comes to about $239.96
Built by a resume-writing firm rather than a template and scoring platform, and sold as one plan with a career coach included. The standards come from real work, not an algorithm, and every finding is a named problem or a band, never a score to chase.
- A career coach of your own, a career professional in the US from TopStack.com, with unlimited written messages and a $20 30-minute call whenever you want one
- Standards drawn from 80,000+ hand-written resumes by 100+ CPRW-certified US writers and recruiters
- Never scores fit or readiness as a number, and never tells a client they lack a qualification a posting asks for, only that it is not on their resume
- 6 month job offer guarantee: If you have paid for our service for 6 consecutive months, and you have not received a job offer, we'll continue to work with you for 6 additional months at no cost.
- $79 a month, several times what a resume-builder subscription costs
- No pay-once option: the plan is recurring, where Novorésumé's Premium is a one-time purchase for a fixed period
- 11 templates against Novorésumé's larger library, deliberately fewer
- Coaching is written messages; a 30-minute phone call is a $20 add-on rather than part of the price

Questions people ask before they pick one

Is Novorésumé legit?
Yes. It's operated by Novorésumé ApS, based in Copenhagen, Denmark, and launched publicly in February 2016. Independently, it holds a 4.3★ rating on Trustpilot from 1,604 reviews. Its free Basic plan is real: one 1-page resume with predefined layouts, no card required.
How much does Novorésumé cost?
Novorésumé's Basic plan is free. Premium is a one-time purchase, not a subscription: $23.99 for a month, $59.99 for a quarter, or $199.99 for a year, read directly from its pricing page. Nothing renews automatically; you buy access again if you want more time.
Is ResumeFox cheaper than Novorésumé?
No. Novorésumé's one-time Year purchase is $199.99 for twelve months of Premium, where twelve months of ResumeFox is $948, after 7 free days at the start. What $79 a month buys is a career coach of your own, a career professional in the US from TopStack.com with unlimited written messages, alongside the resume rebuild, per-posting tailoring, a matching cover letter, job sourcing, interview prep, LinkedIn guidance, offer negotiation, the application tracker and the 6 month job offer guarantee.
Does Novorésumé have a job tracker or job search?
No. Its site lists resume, cover letter, and AI writing tools plus a salary calculator and an ATS checker, but no live job board, no job search, and no application tracker. ResumeFox's Application Tracker keeps one record per job with the targeted resume, cover letter, prep and offer notes attached.
Does Novorésumé give a score, or a percentage?
Yes, in two places: its ATS Resume Checker scores a resume 0-100 across five areas including a job-match score, and a separate AI Resume Job Matcher tool states directly which qualifications from a posting you're missing. ResumeFox never does either: it names specific, checkable problems on the readability half, uses bands, never a number, on the fit-to-a-posting half, and never tells a client they lack a qualification a posting asks for.
Does Novorésumé's free plan really let me download a resume?
Its own FAQ implies a free Basic download is possible without Premium features like removing the watermark. A Trustpilot review from September 2026 describes being asked to pay before downloading even the one-page free resume, and the company has separately said an in-progress account migration has caused some users to lose free access they should have. We could not fully resolve this discrepancy from the outside.
What happens if I don't like it?
Novorésumé offers a 14-day right to cancel and request a refund on a Premium purchase, per its Terms of Use. ResumeFox charges nothing during its 7 free days, so cancelling inside them costs you nothing, and you can cancel anytime from your account. After that, the 6 month job offer guarantee applies: If you have paid for our service for 6 consecutive months, and you have not received a job offer, we'll continue to work with you for 6 additional months at no cost.
How we compared these
Pricing is read from each provider's own checkout or pricing page. Feature claims are checked against each product's live interface. Where we could not confirm something ourselves, it is not on this page.
Where numbers disagree
Entry prices in this category differ across landing pages and promotions. Where that happens we give the observed range rather than one figure, and say so.
Our disclosure
This page is published by ResumeFox, one of the products compared. We have an obvious interest in your choosing it. That is why every claim about a competitor is one you can check on their own site, and why we name the rows they win.
